The British Horse Society

Equine charity, The British Horse Society exists to change lives through the power of horses. Whatever path an individual takes with horses and however they thrive together, the BHS is here to protect and support the interests of all equestrians every step of the way.

Through education, equine welfare, protecting and increasing off-road access for equestrians, safety for horses and riders, and increasing community participation in equestrianism, the charity works hard to protect that unique bond shared between horses and people. As a recognised ‘Voice of the Horse’ within national, regional and local government, the charity strives to ensure this transformational bond can be enjoyed for future generations.

The BHS’s Approved Centres Scheme, inclusive educational programmes and national club system British Riding Clubs continue to help keep equestrianism thriving, enabling people from all communities to experience the joy of horses and riding.
