The Blair Castle Cross Country Challenge

The Blair Castle Cross Country Challenge

The Blair Castle Cross Country Challenge is back for its second year following a 15 year hiatus and its successful return in 2023. The Challenge sees athletes running a 5km stretch of the Defender Blair Castle Horse Trials cross country course. Although the runners will take the same course as the horses, they will not go over the jumps. The event is open to 100 athletes who must be aged over 14 years.

New for 2024 will be the Blair Castle Cross Country Team Race open to teams of 4 athletes. Runners may compete as both individuals and as a member of a team.

There is a competition for the men’s and ladies’ trophies – quaichs and prize money of £100 for the first placed athletes, £50 for the second and £25 for the third.  Teams will compete for quaichs and £100 for the winning team. Additional prizes, kindly donated by sponsor Cob Leather, will be awarded to the placed individual contestants and the winning team. All competitors will receive a medal rewarding their completion of the event.

Thanks are due to the main sponsors – three local businesses, The Roundhouse and Cob Leather for sponsoring the Individuals race and Parc Royale for sponsoring the Teams race.
