The Antipodeans have a stranglehold over proceedings at the end of the second day of dressage at the Blair Castle Equi-Trek International Horse Trials.
The CIC3* for the Scottish Open Championship took place this afternoon amid sunny spells and short sharp showers. Bill Levett conjured a beautiful test from Elisabeth Murdoch, Ali Butler and his wife, Jenny Levett’s, elegant bay 12-year-old Improvise to score 37.5.
Improvise, who finished 15th at Burghley last year, is due to run at the same Lincolnshire four-star next week.
Flora Harris was thrilled with her test aboard Bayano, which leaves her in second place overnight on a score of 42, while another Aussie, Paul Tapner, lies third on Bonza King of Rouges (48.3).
In the CCI2*, Emily Young-Jamieson retains her overnight lead and currently heads the field on a score of 45.6 aboard Gortmore Tommy T. Blair is a happy hunting ground for the 28-year-old Gloucestershire rider, who won the CCI1* here in 2014 with the same horse.
In the CCI1*, the Kiwi stars are piled in at the top of the leaderboard with Jonelle Price firmly at the head of affairs with OBOS Impressive, on a score of 41.3, ahead of Jock Paget and his two rides, Zazu (41.4) and Optimus Prime II (41.9).
