Gusbourne wine will be available in our VIP and Sponsors area.
Leading English wine producer, Gusbourne, has once again won Estate Winery of the Year at the WineGB Awards held on Friday 7th July for the third consecutive year, recognising its continued excellence across all areas of the business. The Kent-based producer also added a further three, highly coveted trophies to its premium wine portfolio including Best Sustainably Produced Wine, Best Chardonnay and Top Still Wine.
The WineGB Awards were established in 2017 and are now recognised as the premier competition to celebrate the achievements of the wine industry in England and Wales.
Gusbourne won five gold and six silver medals, with the judges also recognising Gusbourne Chardonnay Guinevere 2021 for three trophies.
Chardonnay Guinevere 2021: Best Sustainably Produced Wine / Best Chardonnay and Top Still Wine
Pale golden in the glass, an opulent nose shows aromas of lemon, green apple and toasted nuts. On the palate, the wine is elegant and complex, with citrus and tropical fruit notes of lemon, orange peel and pineapple shining through. Alongside the fruit is a striking note of minerality and subtle oak character, with flavours of vanilla, sweet spice and lightly buttered toast, creating a creamy, rounded texture in the mouth and a long, persistent finish.
Over the last year, Gusbourne has seen further critical acclaim as one of England’s most decorated wine brands after receiving a record number of awards during 2022. Most recently, Gusbourne’s Blanc de Blancs 2018 was named ‘Best in Show’ and Chardonnay Guinevere 2021 won Gold at Decanter’s World Wine Awards.
Jonathan White, Marketing Director at Gusbourne commented: “This has been another fantastic result for Gusbourne at the WineGB Awards, and it stands testament to the team’s steadfast dedication to perfection. I’m delighted to see such a wide range of wines, spread across several vintages, recognised by the judges, highlighting our consistently outstanding approach to winemaking and ability to create the very best English wines. Once again, we’re honoured to receive these accolades, and look forward to continuing our award-winning legacy for years to come.”

About Gusbourne Estate
In 2004, when the first vines were planted at Gusbourne Estate, they had a clear vision and a single goal: to create English Sparkling Wines that would stand up alongside the very finest offerings from across the globe. The team have had their sights set on perfection ever since.
Focusing on just the classic grape varieties of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, Gusbourne believes that the only way to ensure the quality of their grapes is to grow them themselves. That’s why the grapes used in their winemaking are sourced solely from Gusbourne vineyards in Appledore, Kent and next door to the Goodwood Estate in West Sussex.
Gusbourne has an uncompromising quest for quality and a fastidious approach to detail that is aligned with their vision to create the finest wines they possibly can. They choose to plant predominantly Burgundian clones. This means that they produce lower yields, but the resultant fruit is riper and has significantly more flavour, making the grapes ideal for the production of fine sparkling as well as still wines. Gusbourne wines are always vintage, unique to each growing season and an authentic reflection of a time and place.
