Emergency rescue training at Blair

Dr Patrick Pollock, Professor of Veterinary Surgery and Resource Limited Medicine and Director of the Equine Hospital and Practice at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, was invited to the Land Rover Blair Castle International Horse Trials yesterday, to conduct training for the event’s emergency team. Dr Pollock heads up the Emergency Rescue Services in Scotland, and travels around the country to race courses, racing yards, veterinary practices and events to provide this crucial service.

Vets, vet students, event stewards, technical directors, doctors and all other parties involved in the emergency team at Blair attended. Backed by the British Horse Society, Dr Pollock is working to further promote nationwide recognition of the importance of training emergency teams at events and will soon be visiting the Scottish government to garner further support.
