Our sponsor Persie Gin are hosting their most popular tasting, “A Three Course Meal in Gin” on the Friday evening at the event, in aid of Riding for the Disabled.
This tasting will take you on a tour of the fruity, savoury and sweet profiles of the gin flavour wheel, helping you to understand the botanicals in the distillation process, how that results in the nose and
flavour composition, and which gin appeals most to your palate.
On arrival, Persie’s experts will say a few brief words on the current resurgence of gin and why the spirit is cool again. They then introduce their three distinct gin profiles – a starter, main course and pudding in gin!
As over 75% of flavour is down to the sense of smell, they spend a few moments with guests experimenting with aroma recognition.
Participants will taste samples of three gins as a group, each with a different flavour profile: first up is the Zesty Citrus Gin; the second is their Herby & Aromatic Gin; and the third is Persie’s Sweet & Nutty Old Tom Gin. They will offer a choice of mixers and garnish to understand the complementary nature of the signature serve.
Finally, they will offer samples of special editions from Persie’s range of charity gins; these have been specially developed to raise money for dog rescue.
We look forward to welcoming you for a great evening and raising money for a worthy cause!
