We are delighted to welcome Barnardo’s Scotland as our official charity for this year’s event.
Founded by Thomas Barnardo in London back in 1866 the charity supports over 26,500 vulnerable children, young people and their families in Scotland alone, and 2016 is a particularly exciting year as it celebrates its 150th anniversary.
“We believe that children deserve a strong start in life, that they deserve to grow up in a safe, loving home, and that they deserve the education, training and skills to help them find employment when they are ready to go out in the world alone,” said Barnado’s Scotland spokesperson Kara Gillies. “Joining forces with Blair Castle International Horse Trials & Country Fair is an exciting opportunity for us to raise both funds and awareness of the work we do; we are very much looking forward to it.”
Whilst details currently remain firmly under wraps, Barnardo’s Scotland has brought a raft of fun and entertaining proposals to the table for this year’s Horse Trials & Country Fair. Event Director Alec Lochore commented: “The team at Barnardo’s Scotland has already come up with plenty of novel and exciting ideas that will appeal to visitors whilst raising money for this very worthwhile cause. I couldn’t be more delighted to work with such an innovative team.”
