20,000 BRUADAR TASTINGS AT BLAIR CASTLE HORSE TRIALS
Visitors to the Blair Castle International Horse Trials and Country Fair on 23rd and 24th August can enjoy a true taste of the outdoors by sampling a glass of Bruadar; Scotland’s alternative to sloe gin while enjoying some fascinating demonstrations and displays in the Country Fair Arena.
Bruadar today announced their sponsorship of the Country Fair for the third year running and are gearing up to offer tastings to over 20,000 people at the prestigious international event which runs from Thursday 21st to Sunday 24th August at Blair Atholl. This follows on from last year where a large number of people enjoyed a taste of this popular outdoor drink made from malt whisky and sloe berries.
Managing Director of the Scottish Liqueur Centre, Kenny MacKay said, “The market for Bruadar is growing at 50% per annum. We see Blair Castle as our flagship sponsorship and the culmination of 64 events across the UK where we have promoted both liqueur and horse trials.”
The Scottish Liqueur Centre is heavily involved in local support being the main sponsors for the Scottish Curling Championships in Perth and also supporting the Home International Fly Fishing Championships which were held on the Tummel in June.
Mr MacKay said, “The Blair Castle International Horse Trials and Country Fair has become a recognised brand and, as a Perthshire product and perfect outdoor drink, Bruadar is the ideal partner for the event.”
Welcoming the third year of support from this local company, Horse Trials Director, Sarah Phillips said, “We have developed a good partnership over the years with Bruadar which adds an extra dimension to the Country Fair and fits well with the profile of visitors to the event.”
The Bruadar Country Fair arena will host some fantastic new displays this year including the Lothian and Borders Mounted Police who are demonstrating how to “bomb-proof your horse.”
The Pegasus Equestrian Vaulting team are back this year by popular demand as are the gun dogs and terrier racing. However new for this year is a display of working lurchers and even a race between these versatile hunting dogs and a falcon!
A tented village of over 200 shops selling everything from country clothing and jewellery to fine art and furniture is complimented by a craft fair and food hall, while those not inclined to browse the shops can relax and enjoy the action from the cross country or one of the four arenas on the big screen.
