Terry Kirkwood Original for Winning Owner at European Young Rider Championships
Glasgow-based fine artist, Terry Kirkwood, well-known for her wonderful equestrian paintings, is to attend the International Horse Trials at Blair Castle (23rd – 26th August), where she will paint a specially-commissioned, watercolour brush drawing, featuring the cross-country stage with an outline of Blair Castle in the background.
This is a special year for Blair Castle as this year the event hosts the FEI European Young Rider Eventing Championship and this original painting will be framed and presented to the winning owner.
Aged between 18 and 21, the Young Rider competitors represent the cream of up and coming talent across Europe. The Championships are without doubt an extraordinarily good indicator of future medal success – many of Britain’s current leading senior riders won medals at Young Rider Levels.
Says Terry, who appropriately hails from Scotland: “I am thrilled to be able to offer this very special work of art to the winning owner and very much look forward to being at Blair again.”
