Local Information
The Sights
Blair Castle is almost exactly in the centre of Scotland. Whilst we may be a long way away for those in the south, the event is certainly worth the journey and is actually suprisingly easy to reach. Just 2 miles from the main A9 road, Blair Castle can is only a 90 minute drive from Edinburgh airport. Not only that, there is a train station in the village. For further travel details, click here. Accommodation
There is a good variety of local accommodation, ranging from camping to five-star hotels. Book early though, as the event is popular and accommodation in the area books up well in advance. We recommend:
The Event Caravan Park
Our own on-site campsite, where caravans, motorhomes, tents and horseboxes are all welcome. Temporary toilet and shower facilities are on-site, and there is a dedicated campsite manager to look after our guests. Pitches can be booked in advance via our Box Office when it opens in April, and both membership and general admission packages are available.
Atholl Estates' Accommodation
The Estate, home of the Horse Trials, has several accommodation options.
- Blair Castle Caravan Park is just next door to the event site, and welcomes touring caravans and tents (no horseboxes) as well as offering static caravan rentals.
- Atholl Estates' Woodland Lodges are an ideal family choice, with 2- and 3-bedroom lodges available. The Woodland Lodges are just a 10 minute walk from the event site.
- Atholl Estates' Historic Lodges are a fantastic choice for large groups, sleeping between 12 and 21 people in each lodge.
Kinloch House Hotel
The Allen family, keen amateur eventers themselves, offer the very best of Scottish hospitality and a truly fabulous dining experience at Kinloch House Hotel. If the idea of a peaceful Scottish Country Hotel, located in 25 acres of Scottish countryside appeals, then you need look no further. Located just under 30 miles from Blair Castle, the luxury of Kinloch House Hotel justifies every second of the short journey.
