| William Fox-Pitt cleans up! |

|
WIlliam Fox-Pitt has won both the CCI** and CCI*** classes. He led the CCI** from the off, adding nothing to a dressage mark of 41.3 with the classy Bee Animas and holding off a strong challenge from New Zealand's Andrew Nicholson. Nicholson, who remained on his dressage mark on both his rides, took second and third places with Epic and Nereo.
William's day was improved further still when he won the CCI*** class on Macchiato. Again, he led the class from the start, his 41.3 dressage mark taking the lead ahead of Matt Ryan (Slight of Hand) and Oliver Townend (Golden Hue). Whilst these two faulted across country, William and Macchiato sped round clear inside the time to retain their lead. Lucy Wiegersma (Woodfalls Pure Gold) pulled up to second place, with Andrew Nicholson in third on Ginger May Killinghurst. A tricky show jumping track was set by Di Boddy on the final day, but the order remained unchanged at the top of the leaderboard and William captured his second trophy - not to mention his second magnum of Champagne Lanson! |
