Highland Pony Showing

Highland Pony Show

The Highland pony is Native to Scotland and is one of the largest in number of the native breeds. They were bred as working ponies and worked on the land. Predominantly they carry the red deer off the hill, but are also used for logging in forestry and farming the land.

The Highland Pony Society have awarded Blair Castle Silver Medal status for both in hand and ridden classes. Classes include working hunter, ridden and in-hand, plus a working harness class.

New for 2017 is a HOYS qualifier for Mountain & Moorland Ridden Highland Pony of the Year.
