1,277 horses and ponies were on site this year, competing in either the three-day event, BSJA show jumping, Highland Pony Show, Hunter Show, NPS Scotland Finals, Ridden Clydesdales or Pony Club Games, or performing in the arena displays
286 of them competed in the three-day event, with 52 horses and riders from 14 nations taking part in the FEI European Young Rider Eventing Championships
300 packed lunches were handed out on cross-country day to officials and helpers
210 trade stands attended the event, offering a huge range of products for sale ranging from bespoke jewellery and fine art to vehicles, crafts and foods
115 winners across the four days - of the EU-YR-CH, CCI*, CCI** and CCI*** three-day events, 20 Highland Pony Show winners, 13 Hunter Show winners, 23 National Pony Society winners, 29 BSJA winners, the Clydesdale winner and 25 winning team members in the Pony Club Games
33 horse and rider combinations have won the three-day event classes at Blair since they started in 1989 - that’s 11 one-star winners, 16 two-star winners, and 5 three-star winners, plus the Individual Gold Medallist at the 2007 EU-YR-CH
6 members of the Blair team have birthdays during the event – and at least 6 birthday cakes are devoured in the office!
4 riders have won at Blair on more than one occasion: Lucinda Fredericks took the CCN* on Daliance in 1997 and the CCI** on Tina’s Gold in 2000; Ruth Friend won the CCI** in 1999 and the CCI*** in 2003, both times riding Matthew II, the only horse to have won more than once at Blair; and Lucy Wiegersma won the CCI** in 2001 on River Vally and in 2002 on Friday Morning, the CCI*** in 2004 with Shaabrak, and the CCI* in 2006 on Porloe Alvin, making her the only rider to have won the CCI*, CCI** and CCI***. William Fox-Pitt added his name to the 'multiple winners' list in 2007 - having never won at Blair before, he scooped both the CCI**, on Bee Animas, and the CCI***, on Macchiato.
