NEW CLASS FOR BLAIR CASTLE INTERNATIONAL HORSE TRIALS

Blair Castle International Horse Trials is to run a CIC*** class for the first time this year due to popular demand from riders who are missing out on top class one day events due to the demise of Thirlestane and cancellation of Hutton.

Event Director, Alec Lochore had been contacted by a number of people who were keen to give their horses a run over a good three star track, so he applied to British Eventing and the result was Blair Castle being awarded this extra class.

Blair takes place from Thursday 27th to Sunday 30th August this year and will continue to run the CCI one, two and three star sections over the four days. Dressage for the new CIC*** will take place on Friday while showjumping will run on Saturday morning and cross-country during peak spectator time on Saturday afternoon.

Alec said, “We have the infrastructure in place at Blair to cope easily with this extra class and we are delighted that so many riders hold the event in such esteem that they want to compete here.”

The CIC will be run over a shortened version of the CCI***course and Alec said, “Ronald Alexander and Irvin Bruce have designed and built a testing course but the going is reliably good and we are looking forward to welcoming some first time competitors to Blair Castle.”
